For developing well-planned, climate-resilient, vibrant, inclusive and sustainable communities and human settlements, Property Company of Friends, Inc. was recognized in the first DHSUD Region 4-A Gawad Parangal.

The citation is highly appreciated by the company which takes community development to heart, as evidenced by the numerous socio and civic activities organized in its flagship project, Lancaster New City Cavite, for and by homeowners, who also reach out to surrounding communities and those in need. Numerous community programs have already been organized like outreach activities during the Taal Ashfall, community pantry and ‘pasabuy’ during the pandemic, fun runs and zumba, tree planting, and village clean-up activities, among so many others.

Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Eduardo del Rosario strongly advocates “not just build houses but sustainable communities.” Sharing in the responsibility of capacitating every Filipino family to have access to decent and affordable shelter, PRO-FRIENDS is privileged to be able to support DHSUD’s BALAI Program (Building Adequate, Livable, Affordable and Inclusive Filipino Communities), allowing it to expand its reach to more areas it could not possibly cover including Marawi, Batangas, and Laguna.

In 2014, PRO-FRIENDS also tied up with Gawad Kalinga to provide shelter and opportunities for livelihood and learning to over 3,000 families affected by Typhoon Haiyan in Iloilo.

Since its inception in 1999 and even after it has built and delivered over 60,000 homes to low to middle-income Filipino families, PRO-FRIENDS continues to pursue opportunities to do the same for those who are marginalized and in need of extra support and all together uplift the lives of the families it serves.
